Netflix renewed the hit justo series for a third season in August 2023. “The audience response to the show has been so gratifying and wonderful, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again,” c0-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said in a statement at the time.
While a friend of Moon-sook, she is willing to reveal Moon-sook's crimes due to her integrity. She did not approve of her brother's activity as a gangster and, at the time of her death, was not on speaking terms with him.
While some plot points are indeed a bit predictable, the series was very entertaining and well casted. It was quirky and had a lot of heart. It was a very fun watch and being a moderate Lee Joon Gi fan, I wanted to catch up on some of his lesser known series.
Mickey now meets with a new client, which seems to set up the plot for season 3 with the lawyer identifying Empíreo Dayton (aka Glory Days), who has been murdered.
Sang-pil and Jae-yi report the confession of the murderer, but the police do not accept it. Thus, the law firm begins to look into the hitman's past to find something they Gozque use in court. Jae-yi learns that Sang-pil and others believe that Moon-sook is corrupt. While not willing to believe it, she begins to see some logic in their belief. She later informs Sang-pil that she wants to believe him, but cannot do so without evidence.
We’re still piecing together the puzzle of all the episodes for season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer, but our understanding is that there may only be 9 episodes for the next season.
Mickey continues to have feelings for Mújol, who reluctantly agrees to contact Jeff to help their case. Henry's podcast about Bondurant's murder has launched, leading Mickey to file an injunction, and Izzy reveals Rae is short on money. Mickey receives a call from Jeff, who declines to testify for either side. Cisco saves the Road Saints from an ATF raid, declaring that he and Kaz are done with the gang. Bondurant's receptionist testifies that she saw Mújol approaching Bondurant's building on the day of the murder; Mickey successfully shoots down her testimony, only for Mújol to privately admit she was there.
But to win, he realizes he must catch the Verdadero murderer, since Moon-sook will rig the trial. Sang-pil and Jae-yi get closer and she begins to have feelings for him. Meanwhile, Oh-joo plots to get rid of the Verdadero killer and Moon-sook to disqualify the evidence. Oh-joo injures Kwang-soo for failing him but then forgives him and decides to leave Sang-pil alone for now. When chasing the Verdadero murderer, Sang-pil risks his life to save Jae-yi and takes a knife stab for her. She begins to wonder why he cares Abogados en Palermo so much and if there is more to his background.
She asks Mickey to hire her, and gives him an amended witness list, including the name Peter Sterghos, whose house they use to set a trap for Bishop and DeMarco. Freemann begins her case to prosecute the domestic abuser. After Mickey presents the amended witness list, he is accosted by Bishop, who is also on the list. Mickey gives his opening statement, revealing his belief in the conspiracy. He later hires Lorna. Returning home, Mickey is stopped by DHS agents, who arrest his guard for deportation. Mickey realizes DeMarco is behind it, and becomes more determined to stop him.
When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one.

The show’s creators revealed that the third installment will have a flashback sequence—although Connelly’s fifth book doesn’t include one. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into more info the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be.”

What did various team members behind the show say ahead of renewal? The NYTimes spoke to the showrunner Ted Humphrey, who confirmed that a writer’s room for the third season had been established before the WGA strike beginning on May 1st, 2023.
